These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of JayPay, a WhatsApp-based digital payment service operated in the Republic of Sierra Leone.
By accessing or using JayPay, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. About JayPay
JayPay is a digital payment platform that enables users to:
- Send and receive money
- Check balances and transaction history
- Cash in and cash out through authorized agents
JayPay is not a bank and does not provide banking services. Funds are managed through partner institutions and agent networks.
2. Eligibility
To use JayPay, you must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Be legally permitted to transact in Sierra Leone
- Provide accurate personal and identification information (KYC)
JayPay reserves the right to deny or terminate access where required by law or regulation.
3. Account Registration & KYC
Users may be required to provide:
- Full legal name
- Valid phone number
- National Identification Number (NIN) or other approved ID
- Additional verification as required by law
JayPay complies with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations of Sierra Leone.
4. Security & User Responsibility
⚠️ Important Security Notice:
- Users are responsible for safeguarding their PINs, OTPs, and devices
- Transactions made from a user's account are presumed authorized
- JayPay will never request PINs or OTPs
JayPay is not liable for losses resulting from user negligence, fraud, or unauthorized disclosure of credentials.
5. Transactions & Fees
- Peer-to-peer transfers may be free or subject to fees as announced
- Cash-in and cash-out services are provided by independent agents
- Transaction limits may apply in line with regulatory requirements
- JayPay does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
6. Agents & Merchants
- Agents and merchants operate under separate agreements with JayPay
- JayPay is not responsible for disputes arising from agent misconduct
- Agent commissions are set by JayPay and may change from time to time
7. Prohibited Use
Users must not use JayPay for:
- Fraud, theft, or deception
- Money laundering or terrorist financing
- Illegal gambling or prohibited trade
- Any activity contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone
JayPay may report suspicious activity to relevant authorities.
8. Suspension & Termination
JayPay may suspend or terminate accounts if:
- Fraud or illegal activity is suspected
- False information is provided
- Required by regulators or law enforcement
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, JayPay is not liable for:
- Indirect or consequential losses
- Agent errors or third-party actions
- Network failures or force majeure events
Use of JayPay is at your own risk.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
